Using Journey 2 Christ

Journey 2 Christ is a free application for reading Scripture, praying, and working through devotional material. There is nothing to buy, no subscription, and no advertising. Using it means accepting what is on this page.

Journey 2 Christ is a free Christian project run by one person in Manitoba, Canada. It is not a company, it is not incorporated, and there is no organisation behind it. Nobody is paid, nothing is sold, and it is funded personally.

That is worth saying plainly, because it shapes everything else here. There is no support department, no service level anybody is promising, and no revenue paying for either. What there is is one person who built this and reads the email.

This exists for one purpose: to help people read the Bible, pray, and grow in Christian faith. Everything in it is offered as spiritual and devotional content, written from a Christian perspective.

It is not neutral and does not pretend to be. It is also not the only voice worth hearing. A local church, a pastor and other Christians will give you things an application cannot.

This application does not provide medical advice, mental health advice, psychological or psychiatric advice, counselling, diagnosis or treatment. It does not provide legal advice or financial advice. It is not an emergency service.

Nothing here is a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are unwell, in distress, or facing something serious, please speak to a doctor, a therapist, a counsellor, a qualified adviser, or emergency services, as the situation calls for.

Please do not delay getting professional help, and please do not stop or change treatment you are already receiving, because of something you read here. If something in this application seems to conflict with advice a professional has given you, follow the professional.

Using Journey 2 Christ, creating an account, or writing anything in it does not create a relationship between you and a doctor, a therapist, a counsellor, a lawyer, a financial adviser, or a pastor. Nobody here is assessing you, nobody here knows your circumstances, and nothing you write is read by a professional or monitored by anyone.

Journey 2 Christ cannot help in an emergency. Nothing you write here reaches a person who can respond, and nobody is watching for signs that you are in trouble.

Those are independent organisations. They are not part of Journey 2 Christ and are not affiliated with it.

You do not need an account. If you create one, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has it.

You can delete your account at any time from Privacy and data in your settings. That removes your rows from our database and cannot be undone. We may close an account that is being used for the things listed under acceptable use below.

Your prayers, notes, highlights and reflections are yours. We claim no ownership of them, we do not publish them, and we do not use them to train anything.

We store them only to give them back to you on your other devices. See the privacy policy for exactly where they go and how to remove them.

The journeys, sessions, prayer guides, resource articles, design and software are ours. You are welcome to read them, quote them in the ordinary way, and share links to them. Please do not copy the library wholesale or republish it as your own.

Scripture is a different matter. The King James Version, the World English Bible and the King James Apocrypha are in the public domain, and nothing here creates any claim over them. Bible and text sources sets out where each text came from and what rights apply.

Please do not attempt to reach other people’s accounts, scrape the application wholesale, interfere with how it runs for others, or use it to distribute anything harmful.

This is a small project. It is provided as it is and as it happens to be available, without warranties or conditions of any kind, so far as the law allows, whether stated or implied. That includes any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We may change or withdraw features.

Nothing here is a promise about what will happen in your life. We do not promise healing, relief from anxiety, depression or grief, the mending of a relationship, freedom from addiction, financial provision, or any particular spiritual experience or outcome. Scripture, prayer and reflection are offered as Christian practice. They are not a method with a guaranteed result, and it would be dishonest to present them as one.

What you have written is stored on your own device as well as on our server, and that is deliberate: if this application went away tomorrow, your writing would still be on your device until you cleared it. Keeping your own copy of anything you would not want to lose is worth doing, and you can export it all from Privacy and data.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Journey 2 Christ, the person who operates it, and anyone who contributes to it, volunteers on it or provides services for it, are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of this application, from anything you read in it, or from any decision you make in reliance on it. This is a free service and no fee has been paid for it.

Some responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded, and this section does not try to exclude it. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law where you live does not permit to be excluded or limited. Where any part of this section is not permitted, that part does not apply to you and the rest still stands.

If you use this application in a way these terms forbid, break the law with it, or infringe somebody else’s rights through it, and that causes a claim against Journey 2 Christ or the person who operates it, you are responsible for that claim. This applies only to your own misuse. It does not make you responsible for anything arising from how the application itself was built or run.

Some resources link to organisations outside Journey 2 Christ, including support services and crisis lines. Those organisations are independent. We do not control them, we are not affiliated with them, we are not endorsed by them, and we are not responsible for what they contain or for the help they provide.

This is written from Canada and can be read anywhere. Where the law of the country, province or state you live in gives you rights that this page does not, those rights still apply, and where it requires something different from what is written here, it takes precedence.

If these terms change, this page changes and the dates at the top move.
