I Shall Not Want
[A Psalm of David.] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
A thought
David does not say he has everything he wants. He says he lacks nothing he needs, because of who is leading him. Those are different sentences, and the second one is the restful one.
Pray
Shepherd, lead me today. Where you make me lie down, let me actually rest. Restore what has been worn thin in me. Amen.
Take as long as you like here. Nothing is counting.
